Obituary of Robin Macklin Pennington

Robin Macklin Pennington was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, daughter, sister, and friend.  She left this world on March 3, 2024, surrounded by family and friends at age 53.

Robin was born to Gregory and Jean Macklin in Burlington, Wisconsin on July 12, 1970.  She married Matthew Pennington on May 2, 1992.  First and foremost, Robin enjoyed being creative and spontaneous in cooking and baking, nothing brought her more joy than to care and provide for her family.  An avid reader, Robin sought or founded book clubs to widen her experiences and to discuss and understand other people’s perspectives throughout her life.  Robin lived abroad for years and thoroughly enjoyed opportunities to travel to numerous countries, countless cities, towns, and villages across the world.  Lastly, Robin was a lifetime learner, having recently taken up the hobby of birdwatching with her family.

Robin is survived by her husband, Matthew, three children Rose (Michael), Beatrice, and Henry, one grandchild, Violet, her parents Gregory and Jean, and her sister Sheri (Howard).

The funeral liturgy for Robin will be held on Thursday, March 14 at 1:00 PM at Holy Name of Jesus Catholic Church in Indialantic with Father Matthew Newcomb as Celebrant.  Visitation will be held at the church prior to the funeral liturgy starting at 12:30 PM.  Following the service please join the family in the reception hall to share memories and celebrate Robin’s life through stories, photos, and laughter. In lieu of, flowers the family is asking for donations to the Moffitt Cancer Center that would go toward helping families cover the cost of care.
