Laura Mages, 99, died Tuesday, July 6, 2010 at William Childs Hospice House, Palm Bay. Born in Brooklyn, New York, she moved to Florida in 1992 from Norwalk, Connecticut. She was an avid Bingo player and enjoyed playing cards. A member of the Greater Palm Bay Senior Center and of St. Josephs Catholic Church, Palm Bay. Her family includes her daughters, Laura Davis and Charlene (Al) Sturges; son, Charles (Linda) Mages and Joseph Mages; eleven grandchildren, Donald (Sandra) Bradley, Gary (Diane) Bradley, Laurie (Bill) Calvin, Karen (Bill) Roberts, Michele Sturges, Valerie (Dave) Carter, Justine (Mike) Sumple, Nicole Mages, Danielle (Chris) Muscolino, Brian Waibel, John Mages; and eleven great grandchildren, Billy and Charlie Calvin, Rachel and Logan Roberts, Brady and Savanna Carter, Kalie and Jake Sumple, Laci and Jordan Meier, Jody Waibel. She was preceded in death by her husband, Charles; daughter, Mary Waibel; and a granddaughter, Donna Waibel. She is the last of nine Buschbaum children. They were a softball team in the 1940's in East Norwalk, Connecticut, playing at “The Dump”, now knows as Veterans Park on Buschbaum Boulevard. Coached by their parents, they were league champions for many years. Funeral InformationFriends may call on Thursday, July 8, 2010, from 9am to 10:30am at Palm Bay Funeral Home. Mass will follow at 11am at St. Josephs Catholic Church, Miller Street, Palm Bay. Burial will follow in the church cemetery. Donations Information
