May (Mary) C. Bonasera (Trubiano) of Merritt Island, Florida answered Christ’s calling on January 19, 2012 at 96. Mary was born in Medford, MA on January 11, 1916.

Pre-deceasing Mary in 1986, was her husband of 45 years, Dominic Bonasera originally from Woburn, MA. Siblings: Sister Annie Costa (Trubiano) (2002) and Brother Romeo (2003).

Mary is survived by her Faithful and Loving Companion Service Dog “Miss Sassy” and her daughter’s Bernice (Bonasera) Scott, Mooresville, NC and Loretta Bonasera, Merritt Island, FL.; Brothers, William Trubiano, Fridley, MN and Joseph Trubiano, Sun City Center, FL. Grandson David Scott, Granddaughter Sharon Scott both of Lowell, MA; great grandchildren; Jarreth, Sean and Stephanie Scott.

Mary received a Certificate of Business Training from Boston Secretarial School.

Organizations/Memberships: 3rd Order of Mary (member since 1958), Association of Miraculous Medal since 1940, Girl Scout Leader Mystic Valley Council, MA (15 years from 1954 - 1969), St. Polycarp’s Women’s Guild (Somerville, MA), PTA Treasurer and Secretary in 1962 at Healy School (Somerville, MA), Past President of AARP for 4 years as well as past Secretary for AARP Chapter #3487 (Raymond, ME), Sebago Lake Chapter, Maine¸ Member of The Friendship Club.

Work History: Woolworth’s (Somerville, MA) P/T until of working age and then at the WPA (Work Progress Administration) from 1941 - 1942 (sewing project, head clerk timekeeper, and first aid); unemployment census 1934, Liberty Mutual Insurance Company office clerk 1942 - 1943; Sr. Clerk of Election Dept. Somerville City Hall, MA from which she retired, Self-employed “Mrs’s. B’s Crafts, Bridgton, ME.

Viewing for Family and Friends: Tuesday, Jan. 24, 2012 – 10:00 am – 11:00 am followed by Catholic Mass at 11:00 am at Divine Mercy Chapel, 1940 North Courtney Parkway, Merritt Island, FL.
