Palm Bay, Florida
Karalee Manty Niznik 73, peacefully passed away on Feb 1, 2017 after a brief battle with cancer.
Karalee is survived by her daughter Heather Niznik-Cullins her husband Michael; grandchildren Rhiannon and Alexander; her brother Al Manty his wife Judy and their two children and many, many lifelong friends.
She is preceded in death by her husband Andrew Niznik, companion Michael McCormic and her parents Charles and Eve Manty.
After graduating from the School of Practical Art, Karalee embarked on a forty-five-year career in retail; she wore many hats while employed with the F.W. Woolworth Company; from the toy department to personnel manager to merchandise coordinator to starting a successful garden shop and then traveling as the assistant to the district manager. After retiring from F.W. Woolworth, she managed a store for Eastern Bag and Paper until she moved to Florida.
Karalee was a loving and devoted mother, grandmother and friend. After retiring her passion for life was expressed in the time spent with her grandchildren, the daily calls from Heather and the joy of cooking their favorite meals. She was an artist and enjoyed decorating her home, collecting F.W. Woolworth memorabilia and sharing time with her friends.
We will miss her and she would comfort us with these words:
“I know how much you miss me; I see sorrow in your heart
but I am not so far away. We really are not apart” unknown
Burial will be in Massachusetts.
In memory, donations may be made to St. Jude's Children's Hospital.
