John V. Diehsner

May 21, 1929 - February 26, 2013

Cape Canaveral, Florida

John V. Diehsner, age 83, passed peacefully in his sleep on Tuesday, February 26, 2013 after a brief illness.

He was born May 21, 1929 in Schenectady, New York.

John served in the US Army as a Corporal in the Infantry Division, stationed in Germany during 1950-52. He was honorably discharged and served as a reservist until 1956. He attended Albany Business School, Albany NY, graduating in 1956 with a degree in Accounting.

For many years he worked for BF Goodrich Company and then Stratham Tire, before moving to FL, where he worked at Winn Dixie for several years. He was an avid collector of WWII movies and books, baseball cards and coins.

He is survived by his first wife, Janice (Wood) Diehsner; and their four children and their families; David Diehsner of Bridgewater MA; Tamie (Diehsner) Abrahamson of Billerica MA and son, Christopher; Jeffrey and Joy Diehsner of Abington MA and children, Christie and Dustin; Randy and Patricia Diehsner of Iva SC and Randy's son, Derek of Billerica MA; along with his two brothers, Richard Diehsner and Thomas Diehsner, both of Schenectady NY; and several nieces and nephews.

He was predeceased by his wife of 23 years, Lorraine Diehsner; parents, John and Josephine Diehsner; and sister, Josephine.
