June Harlow was born on July 17, 1929 to the late Basil and Rae Bailey in Oolitic, Indiana. She died on November 6, 2013 in Melbourne, Florida. She graduated from Indiana University and earned a master's degree at the University of Arizona.

She met her husband, John Harlow, from Liverpool, England while teaching in an American school in Caracas, Venezuela. They were married in Liverpool in 1963 and made their home in the San Francisco Bay area for many years before moving to Indiana, the Canary Islands, and finally, Palm Bay, Florida.
A dedicated teacher, Mrs. Harlow taught English, literature, and journalism while overseeing production of the newspaper and yearbook, devoting tremendous amounts of personal time to the development of her students. She retired from Melbourne High School in 1998.

She was a writer of poetry and was passionate about her family and humanitarian causes. She nurtured lifelong friendships made while traveling the world with her husband, John, the love of her life.
Survivors include daughters Jennifer Hawkins-Adams and Julie Springer, sons-in-law Will Springer and John Adams, grandchildren Christopher Hawkins, his wife, Allison, Kendall Files, her husband, Dustin, Kelsey, and Dane Springer, and sister, Janice Bailey of Oolitic, Indiana.

She was preceded in death by her husband, John, in 2002 and her grandson, Jared Hawkins, in 1984.

Funeral Information

A memorial service will be held Monday, November 11 at 6:00 p.m. at Ammen Family Cremation and Funeral Care, 950 Malabar Road SE, Palm Bay, Florida 32907.
