Lee Robert Hewett

Lee R. Hewett, 91, of Melbourne, FL died at home February 23, 2013. He was born September 13, 1921 in Albany, GA. He was a veteran of WWII, having served in Burma with the US Army Air Corps. He farmed shade tobacco in Gadsden County and began working overseas with USAID after his children finished school. He served in Vietnam, East Africa, and Israel and retired in Melbourne, FL. A loving and giving man, he influenced lives where ever he went.

He is survived by his wife of 63 years Anne Hewett; son Bradley Hewett of Tallahassee; daughter Vance Harless of Melbourne; brother William Hewett; sister Marianne Forester; and grandsons Barclay and William Harless.

Arrangements entrusted to Ammen Family Cremation and Funeral Care, 1001 S. Hickory Street, Melbourne, FL (321) 724-2222.

A private service will be scheduled for his family.
