Evelyn Rufina Elie

August 27, 1924 - February 22, 2013

Palm Bay, Florida

Evelyn Rufina Elie, at 88, went quietly home to be with her Lord and Savior Jesus Christ at 11:15 am on Friday, February 22, 2013.

“Blessed be God, even the Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, the Father of mercies and the God of all comfort.” 2 Corinthians 1:3

She will be remembered as a loving and caring mother, grandmother, great grandmother, sister and friend.

She was always a strong, diligent, hard worker all her life.

She was a tremendous cook, talented seamstress, the ultimate green thumb in gardening (everything she touched grew), and was an avid “New York Yankees” fan.

Evelyn was born in the Caribbean Island of Trinidad & Tobago and moved to New York City in 1974 when she lived for 31-years. She moved to Palm Bay, FL in 2005.

She was the sister of Dennis, Carmen, Sheila, Zita, Michael and Lenora. The mother of Michael, Keith (Diane), Frances (Stephen). She was preceded in death by her youngest child Larry (Annette). Her nine grandchildren are: Corrie, Candice, Kirk, Stephen, Martin, Anthony, Nathanael, Dishon and Karim and twelve great-grandchildren: Tony, JT, Nicholas, Tyler, Matthew, Felicity, Joshua, Aliyah, Jaylene, Dishon, Karim and Chelsea.

Our family would like to thank the staff at The Brookshire in Melbourne and the William Childs Hospice House who cared for our beloved Evelyn.

Funeral Information

A Memorial Service celebrating her life will be held at Faith Baptist Church, 341 Emerson Drive, Palm Bay, FL on Saturday, March 9, 2013 at 11am, with Pastor Louis Shultz.
